I learned about Dr. Brown when I went to her free seminar about how to grow older properly and the keys to aging well. My brother died on 9/28/2014 from complications caused by diabetes and I was upset and frustrated about how the disease has such a negative impact on people’s lives and how information about controlling it is never discussed. I’d also spoken to Corinne about my own diabetes and how my meds were being increased. Corinne was my resource and from her recommendation I made an appointment to see Dr. Brown, seeking her help to combat the disease through proper nutrition.
Dr. Brown assessed my health issues and through her recommendations guided me with vitamins and a food routine that eliminated carbs and fruit from my diet. She assisted me in identifying foods that were increasing my A1C level, which was prompting my endocrinologist to increase my meds two times in 6 months. He never advised me to contact a nutritionist to help regulate my food intake, however, and he never gave me the tools to naturally combat the disease. Dr. Brown gave me the knowledge, the resources and the guidance necessary to gear me toward reducing the meds and take control of my A1C level naturally.
In just 3 weeks I saw my glucose readings go from the 290 range to the low 100 range, numbers I have not seen since 2010 when I was first diagnosed with diabetes. I also saw my readings in the 80s and low 90s on a daily basis after 4 weeks. I am confident that my numbers will improve and I will be able to go off medication altogether. Dr. Brown is confident that I will reach my goal of lowering my A1C to 5 and be off all medication. I will continue to follow her guidance and am thankful that she gave me the knowledge, tools and resources to achieve a healthy life through nutrition!
